1996 Taurus -trans. fluid

How many quarts of transmission fluid is needed for changing fluid in the automatic transmission of 96 Taurus? It has 3.0 engine. thanks

Depends on the transmission. The AX4N (2000 model) takes up to 13 quarts I believe.

Look in the owners manual (if available) under Capacities.

If your dropping the pan and changing the filter the unit will refill with 6 quarts. If your draining the complete transmission including the torque converter it will hold just over 13 quarts.
