The fuel pump on this thing has been loud for a couple years and stopped yesterday. I heard somewhere that the fuel pump on some cars can be accessed from above, by cutting a hole. has anyone done this?

Sorry, not on your Taurus. The tank has to be removed to replace the fuel pump.
hi there was a guy that tried to cut from above one time. the tank exploded. now his name is toast.
