Found this web site that has a system to generate your own hydrogen using solar or wind power. Of course you have to buy their kit and install a trunk full of tanks good for about 350 miles.

Hey! It's got some SCIENCE behind it!
Not bad! Though, reading it, given cost much secondary to need...I'd use the small engine package, on a full-house generator.
If it's that easy why has it not been done sooner? I would love to see something come along to free us from the oil producing countries. It would only take a mild shift in demand to do so too. The economic dislocation of various industries would be huge.

Uh... you need to read the details.
Cost: about 13,000
5 solar panels recharges stock in about 2-3 days of full sunlight.Tanks are the key to it... note the composition of the FIRST practical tanks?
Neither Gas or Liquid hydrogen tanks are practical because of the explosion/fire hazards, not to mention capacity for the gaseous ones and need for refrigeration for liquid.
BUT the new media tanks require heating, which reduces efficiency summat. Why not use engine heat from heater lines?
PLUS OBDII makes engine control/metering a lot easier than it would have been prior
And it's still under development... remember LNG and Propane were exactly creating storms of customers.
