Multi-function switch 96 Windstar

Can a multi-function on a '96 Windstar be changed without pulling the steering wheel? Also has anyone had any luck using contact cleaner to clean the wiper switch contacts. The wiper is intermittent at best, but I'm not sure of the location of the contacts or where to spray. Any ideas or help is appreciated. Matt

You do not have to remove the steering wheel but, you do have to remove the plastic covers around the column. The contacts are sealed inside the switch. IMHO, it wouldn't be worth the effort to disassemble the switch. Don't forget that, although the multifinction switch is usually the problem, problems do develop within the wiper governor and the wiper motor.
