Yep. 99% sure this is your problem.

Get an ignition switch and a 'tamper resistant' torx bit to remove the old one.

You find them at the same dealers because they Ford and Mercury are the SAME company.

Over here in the UK, the Murcury Focus has the blue oval badge on it, as does the puma.
