either the bulb is burned out(when that happens) in your case the bulb might be loose... or its the blinker under the dash.. most fords have one for each side.... the contacts are arcing so that is why no light flashing, just the noise of a fast click......

David Glick opined in news: snipped-for-privacy@cox.net:

Thhis is often a wiring problem...

is the rear signal same as brake light?

- if so, does the brake light work?

Slightly torque the lever by applying hand pressure, see if symptoms change... COULD be a fault in the Multifunction switch.

Say hi to Jeremy

Could also be a defective flasher.
