trunk lock cylinder 97 taurus

May 29, 2004 1 Replies

Hi,

Somehow the lock cylinder in the trunk is not letting the key go in all the way (maybe something got stuck inside), and it won't turn.

Does anyone know how ot replace the lock cylinder or maybe fix it?

Thanks

If you are a member of AAA, you might give them a call. They might send locksmiths out for free. If you are able to open and lock the trunk (e.g., with a remote control or with the latch thing next to the driver's seat), they won't come out.

In theory, you should be able to get a replacement from a dealer. And it should not be too hard to replace it yourself or have your local mechanic change it.

Apparently, you are not the only one with this problem:
