1998 F-250 EGR Air Tube?

I have a 1998 F-250 5.4 V8 that sounds like it has an exhaust leak on the rear right of the engine. I have been told it needs a new EGR air tube that is a FORD service department item.

Is this common in the 5.4 Triton engine? The truck has 84,000 miles. What is the cost to have it replaced? I have been told it is not a do-it-yourself repair.

it's difficult, but not a 'you can't do it yourself' job

the tube hooks to the rear of both heads with a single bolt, getting TO the bolt is the tough part
