'95 Ranger 3.0 ltr misfires on #2.

Oct 19, 2003 1 Replies

Diagnostics indicate a misfire on the #2 cylinder, I have replaced plugs and wires but am still having misfire codes and runs rough. The next step is a coil pack, has anyone else had a similar problem with their distributorless ignition? I have ohmed out the coil pack and it tests OK, but then the misfire is only intermittent. I have used a scan tester at Schucks (po353 and po302) and tested the coil pack with a multimeter at home. Should I bite the bullet and take it in to the dealer to have them run their test equipment before dropping $120 for a coil pack?

Try checking the plugin connector and wires for the crankshaft position sensor. Solved my problem.

distributorless
