96 f-150 driveshaft removal
It will pull off if you pull hard enough. Best though, is to drop the carrier, take the whole assembly to the bench, and replace all 3 joints.
Don't forget to mark everything so it goes back the same way, ie the orientation of the parts to one another. Its balanced as an assembly. As for pulling the two shafts apart, you can just pull like the dickens, or you can use a pair of water pump pliers also known as channel locks and take the collar off first, and then it will almost fall apart. The newer ones don't have the collar. Most of the ones I've done have a rubber bellows type boot you just unclamp one end of it and pull the slip yoke off.
I didn't think ford went to that bellows arrangement till around 2002.
