ABS Problem HELP

Aug 21, 2003 1 Replies

I have a 99 Explorer that has the ABS light on. Where do I locate the sensors? How many are there? The brakes work fine. Thanks for your assistance. Barbara

The sensors are on the disc brakes at each wheel or on the differential of the rear on a three channel system. On four channel systems there are 4, on three channel systems there are 3, and on rear only systems I think the one on the differential. The light can be on for many different reasons, mine came on once for a loose connector, took dealer 6 hours of tracing the wires after reading the code to find the loose one.
