Clicking dashboard F150

Jul 25, 2003 1 Replies

Has anyone had experience finding a clicking under (or caused by) the removable oval hunk of plastic on the top of the dash circa 97+ F150.

It happens when the weather is cooler in the morning and sounds like a pebble shaken in a pill bottle with every little imperfection in the road. I popped off the large oval and checked for a loose wiring harness etc. Pressing hard on the right side of the oval helped, sooo. Tried sticking folded cardboard under the oval's edge near the right "a" pillar until it stopped, that worked for about 3/4 hour (the quiet was deafening). Started clicking again, tucked HD foam in around the lip of the oval piece of plastic - still clicking uggggggg...

Any help / hints appreciated
