F-250 gas serpentine belt?

Nov 27, 2010 2 Replies

I have an 2001 F250 SD gas V8, no A/C.

It's past time for me to change the original serpentine belt at 83,000 miles.

The OEM Motorcraft belt has obviously given me good service, and it still looks ok. It's not cracked or "shaggy". This is Motorcraft belt # YC2E-8620-CA.

I've also heard real good reports on the Goodyear Gatorback belt p/n

4080805.

These 2 belts are comparably priced.

Can you folks please tell me one of these belts is preferable over the other, and why?

Thank you.... Lee in Denver

My F-150 5.4 gasser has 129,000 miles and the original belt is still looking good. There is a spare OEM in the console!! :-) Tom J

I just changed my serpentine, 200,000 on original. Belt was still in good shape. I used a Goodyear replacement from Rock Auto....
