Ford Ranger Interior (floor)

Fellas,

proud owner of a 2002 ford ranger (ext. cab 2 door). my dad has a dodge ram

1500 with a factory rubber/vinyl floor. I like that.

I thought of taking out the factory carpet and using a "herculiner" do it yourself roll on bed liner on the floor to achieve the same effect. I am in the army and often track mud and dirt into the truck and would appreciate the bennefits of a waterproof, easy clean floor.

Has anyone done anything similar? Any warnings on doing such? and suggestions or good tricks to go with this? Thanks... happy truckin'

Hi,

I bought a plain Ranger with the vinyl for just that reason. I had to look at a bunch to get an automatic, AC and V6 and the vinyl floor but I sure like it.

You can get a rubber mat that goes all the way across your floor from someplace, JC Whitney was advertising them just a couple years ago. Other option would be see how much for the factory vinyl floor and remove your carpet.

You can buy molded, better than OEM, rubber to replace your carpet at JC Whitney,

As far as using the paint in stuff, from discussions I've heard before, the consensus is that the fumes/odor would be prohibitive.

I thank everyone for the suggestions...

I purchased a replacement vinyl floor for my ranger... once the uninstall of the carpet and the install of the vinyl is done... it will be as if I bought it that way... it should be sweet- Ill post a picture when Im done... maybe

2 weeks after it is installed (damn shipping time )

Thanks again, and as always Happy Truckin' BM

My 02 Ranger Edge came with the rubber floor. Love that stuff! Wish my 04 F-150 had it...
