Ford Towing/Trailer Plug - 7 Pin - Easy to Replace?

Hello All...First thanks for responses:

I have a '98 F150, with factory trailer tow package. The 7-pin connector that trailer plugs into on the bottom of the bumper has a rusted out connector (Electric Brakes Pin...Not Good!) Does anyone know how easy this is to replace?

Thanks Again!!!!

The entire connector is available at any parts store. It's amatter of cutting the old wires and installing it in the new connector. Texas Parts Guy

Or you can go to Ford and order a new one with the 4 pin and 7 pin connectors both on the same bracket. Unplug the 2 connectors and unscrew the ground, put the ground screw back on, connect the 2 connectors and attach to the truck. It may cost a little more than a auto parts one but no risk of loose wires coming loose from a aftermarket patch in.

I just switched mine from the 7 pin only to the new style to get rid of the adapter (7 pin round to 4 flat) I paid right at 40.00 for the new one. It includes all the wiring harness`s and the plugs and new bracket. Plug and Play :))

Thanks for the responses. I picked up a new connector from an RV store after seeing Ford's price, and rewired it, with no wire cutting required. Ford connector was $43. The one I bought from RV store was $5.50
