my 95 powerstroke is getting 13 mpg. is this normal? will a chip improve it? its a 250 4x4. WHat mileage should it be getting? thanks- chris

You should be getting better than that,mine is getting between 16and 17 mpg around town with 130,000 miles on the odometer.
My 96 250 PSD 4X4 gets 15 - 16 around town, but I have a heavy foot. On the highway at 70 - 75 mph it gets about the same.
I got 18.2 yesterday on a 250 mile trip.
Mine is a 97 2wheel drive though.
That sounds low to me, but how hard do yo drive it and which rear end ratio do you have?
My 2000 F-250 gets about 18 around town, just got home from a 2300 mile road trip on which it got 20 1/2 mostly running 72 MPH w/ A/C on. That does include some in town driving too.
My MPG did improve by about 2 - 3 when I had a 60 HP chip added at the same time I got my BTS tranny.
