THE OVERDRIVE SWITCH OF MY 96 RANGER XLT IS LOCATED ON THE GEAR SHIFT HANDLE. THE WHOLE THING (O/D SWITCH) WAS TORN OFF BY MY EX. NOW THE WIRES ARE EXPOSED. MY TRANSMISSION HAS STARTED SLIPPING REALLY BAD. THE O/D LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING ON AND OFF. IS THIS SLIPPING CAUSED BY THE BROKEN SWITCH? PLEASE ADVICE ASAP!

Probably not. The light is telling you there are error codes set. You should have the codes read and then post them here.

No, it is caused by a broken transmission.
Maybe the EX did something to the transmission too.
