R&R Leaf Springs

I did rear leafs on a toyota pickup a couple years ago. We jacked up the truck and put jackstands under the frame and let the rear suspension hang. Took the shocks off then put the jack under the pumpkin and lifted it enough to just start taking some weight.

We unbolted the U bolts and lowered the axle down about 3" then unbolted the rear shackle and let the spring drop. Undid the front bolt and pulled the spring straight out the back. Did the same on the other side then replaced with new springs in reverse order. All bolts were just snugged up then we put the truck back on the ground, jumped in the bed a few times to get eveything sitting where it wanted to be, then tightened everything up.

Two of us took about 2 hours to complete the job. I don't think I'd tackle this without an extra pair of hands. Leaf springs can be heavy..
