I have a 2001 Ranger 4x4 with 4,o engine. I pulled up on the tailgate handle to open the tailgate and the handle broke off. How costly is this to fix and has anyone had this happen?

I have a 2001 Ranger 4x4 with 4,o engine. I pulled up on the tailgate handle to open the tailgate and the handle broke off. How costly is this to fix and has anyone had this happen?
The handle cost about $15 and you can bolt the replacement in yourself.
