Can anyone tell me the difference between a "divorced" and a "married" transfer case? There's one of each locally at a geat price. But the guy thats selling it doesn't know the difference either. Thanks Don

'married' is mounted directly to the transmission
'divorced' is on a separate mount, with a drive-shaft between TC and transmission
Well, the smart-ass answer is that ONE of them still has his house, and can afford to eat out occasionally. On the serious side...don't know that I have ever heard the terms as regards a transfer case. Now...it is gramatically correct to say that the transfer case is "married" (I.E. Connected) to the transmission, so perhaps this means that one has an adaptor ring of some sort, and the other (divorced) one does not. Regards Dave Mundt
OK, that makes sense. I had a chance to look at both and the "divorced" one had 3 yokes on it. Thanks for the info. Don
