1994 Roadmaster electrical issue?

Aug 25, 2004 2 Replies

Hi Guys,

Wondering if you could shed some light on this one: When I turn on the AC or the heat in my 1994 Roadmaster, the horn becomes intermittent - it doesn't always work when I touch the wheel. When the AC/Heat is off, it works just fine... any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

My experience with stubborn horns in the distant past almost always involved the resistance of the "horn button." Higher than normal resistance at this location could prevent the horn relay from picking up when your HVAC system electrical load is drawing down the system voltage just enough to keep the horn circuit from working. Try removing the horn pad and cleaning the contact button. Just a wild guess.

Try adding a jumper ground from fender with horn to engine block
