Electric car

With all this technology available, why there is no afordable electric cars?

The technology is not quite there for any distance. Most are a 50 mile limit and my daily commute is 52 miles.

An electric "town car" is feasible for the SunBelt.

Picture a 2-seat electric golf cart, with a small constant-run lawn mower motor trickle-charging the batterys.

Would probably serve for 70% of local errands. Shouldn't cost much more than a golf cart.

Problem would be sharing the road with those big-ass vanity trucks and SUVs.
