fan switch speed failures???

i have a 2001 chevy malabu(parden the spelling please)and oddly enough the

1st and 5th speeds work on the fan switch but 2 through 4 are dead) could this be some relay problem or just a bad switch????? thanks

Sounds like the resister card is gone.
