i got a 84 chevy truck wit a 6.2 liter diesel engine. found out that the block waas cracked so was thinking of converting to another engine 350 block right now the truck has an 700r transmission my question is do i need to swap out the transmission too? or can i use the same one?

Probably be easier to swap the tranny. The converter and valve body is different on the diesel.
