A neighbor had a 2003 Yukon XL 4WD with 35,500 miles on it. The
transmission decided to retire early. Dealer replaced the transmission
under warranty which was about to run out. Two weeks pass and he traded
it in at another GMC dealer for an 06 Yukon XL 4WD that was really
loaded up, including a DVD player, sunroof, Heated leather seat and
power fold in mirrors. The 2003 they had bought new in late 2003.
Disgruntled the trans died on a vehicle so young, and one that never
went 4 wheelin, nor towed anything, plus wife driven mostly they decided
to stick with the General.
When the weather breaks a body shop in town will lay a $2000 paint job
on his 78 Olds 88 2 door.
He did go through some agony years back when their old 88ish Ford Taurus
wagon required 6 transmissions in the time they owned it..
