Water Pump Failed?

Well, I've seen many a water pumps fail. First they start making a little noise, then they just start growling like a dog, louder than the engine. However, mine appear as though a seal has gone, coolant is spraying from the pump pulley, no other apparent leaks anywhere. Has anyone ever seen this before? It's a 1995 3.4L DOHC.

this is the way it should fail. leak all the way. otherwise, it will circulate the water fine. even it makes noise.

The original water pump on my car did just that. Pulled into White Castle. Walk toward the building and see anti running out under the car, quick open the hood to see where and it was pouring out from behind the water pump, start the car up and the leaking stopped, drove ome about 1 mile - order new water pump. Got 123,316 miles out of it It worked til

7/221/97.

# 2 leaked drip drops on the garage floor at 263,010 miles in August of

2003. No big loss of fluid like the first time.

When the car is shut off the pressure builds up and forces the anti out the weep hole. Thus the flood you see.

Good Luck

And that water pump is the only, ONLY, thing easy to change on that 3.4 DOHC.
