97 CRV 120000. I am looking to paint the original rims. Any suggestions paint brand process etc. Is primer and clear coat necessary? There is rust and some pitting.

Wire wheel the rust off, sand with 320 grit wet and dry till smooth, then use Duplicolor silver wheel paint with their clear coat. Cheap and relatively easy.
