battery light and brake light together on

I installed a new battery a couple days ago and then this evening the light came on for a bout 30 miles in the night lights dimed some my coolant gauge started showing a cooler temp?Brake light also on.

Your alternator is not charging. Your temperature gauge was probably not reading correctly because the system voltage was low.
