the needle is pegged at all speeds, it comes up just after starting the engine, what could be the problem? The haynes manual has some stuff on low oil pressure but nothing on HIGH, please help. Thanks Tom

It would probably be best to determine if this is a pressure problem or a gage problem.
It is possible that the pressure sensor, wiring or gage might be bad and giving a false indication.
I would borrow or buy a mechanical oil pressue gage to verify this is an oil pressure problem.
