Q.: '89 Jetta oil pressure buzzer...

Nov 06, 2003 2 Replies

What can I say, when it rains, it pours. My low-oil pressure buzzer is coming on. Does it come on when there's low oil pressure at only one switch or both? The buzzer only comes on when coasting at about

2K RPM. Idle is fine, and under load it's fine. No, I haven't checked the oil pressure yet.

TIA, Darryl.

I replaced both high and low pressure switches (they're cheap at the dealer). Problem solved. It was probably the low pressure switch because it only buzzed when coasting to idle...but I didn't take the time to find out cuz in the meantime my water pump went, and I snapped a bolt in the thermostat housing...but that's another story.

Darryl.
