86 XJS V12 Distributor Vac advance location

Thanks again for all your help ot there. I am trying to find the Origination of the line for the vacuum advance for my 86 cat. I have located an intentionally blocked line that comes from a junction valve in the passenger front of the engine, but it doesnt seem to have any suction at all. It also apperars to be too short to reach the inlet to the distributor, but I am not sure if it ever been cut. I also see two lines going from the cap that go nowhere. One on the top the other on the side. The top ends in a broken connector that is just floating around the engine compartment... I have not traced the lower line as yet. New owner of an old car. Sorry if I appear so needy.... I havent got my manual as yet. ;) Thanks for any help.
