Interestingly, UK TV prog Top Gear ran some comparisons between current and earlier supercars last week and came down in favour of the earlier cars as having much more character. XJ220 is certainly the most affordable of the supercars at the moment, good ones selling for not much more than 100k GBP. Main drawback in road use is the enormous width. Too wide for the standard UK urban road width restrictions, for instance. A lot of people are put off by the fact that it has a turbocharged V6 - TWR-Jaguar racing engine developed from the old Metro Group B rally-car unit - which doesn't sound very 'supercar'.
