Veneered Swith / Instrument Panel for a Jaguar MK2

My instrument / switch panel on my early MK2 is metal which has been painted black. As the car is very early built in 1960, this is looking very tired and in need of a makeover. I have heard that you can get these veneered and lacquered and they look great. Anybody had this done and know of a company who could do this.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, I believe your Mark II had a black piece of vinyl on the gauge panel originally so someone must have taken yours off and painted it black. There are an number of models that came with the gauge panel covered in wood -- namely the S-Type which looks similar to your Mark. I would suggest you keep a keen eye out on Ebay US as well as UK for there are constantly panels being offered for sale. You can also try the buy and sell section of

Thanks for the advice and I will keep a look at via these sources. I have also just come across this excellent business that specialises in woodtrim restoration and run by an ex Rolls Royce trained craftsman -

They will veneer and lacquer theJagaur MK2 instrument panel which looks very impressive on some of theother models.
