86 Cherokee 2.5L EFI 2WD clutch question

Sep 29, 2003 2 Replies

Hi

After several years of no problems with the clutch fluid level it suddenly went dry! Now the clutch will not work. I had checked the level on Friday and it was fine. On Saturday after driving for 2 hours the clutch pedal suddenly felt funny and a few minutes later I was not able to operate the clutch.

Any ideas?

thanks

Allan

Or perhaps your clutch line developed a leak between the Master and Client. Mine was seriously corroded when I changed my master and client. It actually bent and broke while replacing it. Having just dealt with 2 different vehicles each have brake lines blow in the last two months I'm a little sensitive to the condition of the steel lines under my cars. All new lines for me once I see some corrosion.

I paid $85 for the clutch Line (Steel line and rubber hose combo -single unit) along with $120 for a Timken release bearing.

Cheers!
