BFG KOs or KMs



I'm outfitting a stock 2001 TJ daily driver with the canyon rim package here in Wisconsin.



Given a fair amount of snow, rain, mud, etc Im having a hard time deciding which tire to buy.



I don't really see myself doing to much mud bogging but do end up in muddy snow convered farm fields every now and then.



Im leaning towards the KMs and have decided to run with 31x10.5 untill I get serious about lifting the jeep which won't be for a least another year.



But have to concider the majority of my driving for now will be on the highway and that the Ko's may be a more prudent choice.



Any input especially from people running these tires would be greatly appreciated as far as satisfaction tire wear, traction, inflation on and off road , etc.

I live in Montreal where there is a long winter. I use the BFG 33 Mud km in the summer but in the winter switch to the BFG AT since they are syped and the tread is better for snow and ice.

has the specs. In winter driving theMuds are rated at 6 while the AT are a 9 out of 10(best). I have seen people offroad with them. I would get the ATs and if you get into offroading get the muds but get a lift and put on 33s! The ATs will provide better roadhandling and will not wear out as fast as the mud tires. I use 31x10.5 MT/KMs on Canyon rims in spring, summer, and fall in New Hampshire. 98 TJ Sport. As with most MT type tires they are good on the trails but a little harsh on the road. They do ride better than a lot of other MTs.

I use 235/75-15 AT/KOs on stock steel rims in the winter. They handle better on wet and icy roads. The MT/KMs may do better in deep snow but I haven't had an opportunity to test them yet.

The AT/KOs suck in the mud though. They clog up and turn into slicks.
