Bosch Spark Plugs

Was thinking about trying a set of Platinum Bosch Plugs the next time I change plugs. Running a 1989 Wrangler 4.2 6 cylinder. Would like some expert opinions. Currently running Autolite non Platinum.

I've tried them on older cars, mostly vw's, and found conventional plugs work better.

I personally run Autolite in everything I own, including my lawn mower and boat (Mercury outboard). I personally won't use anything else.

Jack Dow did pass the time by typing:

They will last longer than regular plugs but cost a whole lot more.

Hesco, the folks that built my charger kit, do not recommend platinum plugs. I figure they should know.

They don't work in the 258's from what I have seen.

I see good results with Champion plugs.

Ditto Mike's comment. For some reason, Bosch plugs don't work in Jeep engines... at least most of the time. Really strange. I'd stick with something like Champion Truck plugs (which I have used but they didn't last as long as the next one), Autolite Platinums (as I have been using with great luck), AC-Delco, etc.

Then Mike sez:

GM vehicles don't much like the Bosch's either. In GMs I'd use Delco, in the Jeeps and the Harley's I use Champion.

So, you're saying they _don't_ use glow plugs? ;) Seriously, I will say Harleys never did anything for me (as you can see by my list below). That said, a bike is a bike, and to each his own.

Hey dude, there used to be a Harley bar in Santa Monica where none of the owners have balls. Admittedly some of them may need to shave daily...
