Lost my marbles, I'm thinking of stroking out the ZJ to a
4.7 with the Hesco kit $2,270 and using a local shop in Norman Oklahoma (Kennard Automotive). They have done other work and have a highly recommended engine mechanic. And yes, I'll be keeping the supercharger too. :D Gonna definitly need larger injectors but might need new ones anyway. At any rate I'm going to have them do a leak and compression check on the engine. I think I might have toasted an exhaust valve and that's the reason the engine is running rough. Probably a cascade from a bad injector. (All stuff I can't check myself) :(
..the hose on my compression checker cracked..
Anyhoo, it's a far sight cheaper to go this way then to pony up the bucks for a new Jeep and then fork over mucho higher insurance and tag. Actually the whole exercise will pay itself back in about two years.
As a plus, with increased power I can step up in tire size and start converting the mostly street ZJ into something that can provide more fun factor on future off-road trips.
(or put some phat spinner rimz on it and hang with da homies)
