I received this from a friend, but I've never owned a Jeep Cherokee (I own a CJ and YJ, My Cherokee is a Piper). Anyone know how to fix this?

My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee has developed a "glitch" and I need advice! The passenger dash vents and floor vents are all blowing air but it is COLD even when the switches are set for hot. (It blows hot on the driver's side.) OF course, it is out of warranty and the estimate is 1,200 to go into the dash and replace a "flapper". That's a LOT of avgas... And user fees! ;) The question is does anyone know how difficult it is to go in, extricate the part and swap it or fix it myself? If anyone happens to know of a website with "how-to remove the dash", that would be a help. OR, should I just let the dealer do it?

PS To give you an idea of what I can take on, I recently, skinned the passenger seat, found a broken wire in the seat heater and soldered it back.
Even managed to reassemble the seat and put it back in the Jeep! :)
