Hello,
A friend has a CJ?? with a plastic or fibreglass type fuel tank in it that has a crack. Is there any way to repair it?

No. Have him ship me the entire vehicle and I'll dispose of it properly. I'll even pay shipping. ;-)
Epoxy or fiberglass patch should work fine if it's a fiberglass tank.
