Help with YJ lift

My friend put a 4.5" RE lift on his YJ. He has the vibes bad. He put in a tcase drop and the degree shims that came with it but its still practically undriveable. Anyone else know the quick easy answer. Hopefully not a 900 dollar sye and driveshaft? To do that is OK but he needs to save up for it and we need to make it drivable. What should the driveline angles be like? That darn driveshaft is so short under there. KH

There's really no way he can do this much lift without an SYE & CV shaft. I've got this lift set up with Dynatrac axles and an Atlas II. The rear axle was dialed in spot on the money ant it still can exhibit a trace of vibration under different loads.

Hey guys, what's a SYE? I'm considering a 4" lift on my CJ and the only mod I thought I'd need is a drop pitman arm.

Thanks,

Slip Yoke Eliminator.... but I don't believe it's an issue with CJ's. On the Wranglers, it reduces the transfer case tail shaft length, allowing you to install a longer rear drive shaft which will reduce vibration (reduces the degree of angle between transfer case and axle).

If you add a 1" motor mount lift it might give you a little help by pointing the tranny lower, but at these angles you will still go through u-joints. Even if this works I would get the SYE soon. Jim F.

They do. The original post is about a YJ, with leaf springs. Real Jeeps also have the drive shaft bolted to the tcase. They have round head lamps too.

Is it me or are the newer TJs with round head lamps not as bright as the YJ lights? Somehow I get the perception that the square lights seem brighter also with the high beams on. I used to have an old Nissan truck with the

720 pickup body and it had 4 square lights that really worked well and were exceptionally bright.
