No offense intended, just thought someone might be interested, I was unaware of the charter.

Thanks, this group stays pretty spam free thankfully. We all have jobs, but this is a place for Jeeps...

Cutline signatures are usually considered fair practice in most of usenet as long as they are not too verbose, and as long as you are posting honest questions and responses and not just posting for the sake of getting an advertisement into a newsgroup. Most news readers will delete a cutline sig when generating a response. As to your original question, check out the Strokers group over on Yahoo, dedicated to

4.5-5.0 I-6 Jeep engines.

Oh good lord. Ya'll get off it already. He didn't do anything with any malicious intent, AND, he apologized!

It's worse in here than first grade sometimes.

No need to get in a huff it was an honest mistake, I have never used these things before so I don't know the rules. It isn't like I was trying to offend or spam people I was just trying to get my name out there. And I would hardly consider it abuse. But if you feel you should report it as such then do what you need to do I figured you for a person with a cooler head than that Bill.

ANYHOW, I appreciate the info and I will see what I can do, hopefully since it is already going to the machine shop and I figure that since it is already getting bored about .030 over that it will need new pistonds and crank so I will find out if he is going to replace injectors and if so the making it a stroker with 4.2l parts should be easy enough.

Whatever you do man, goodluck!

Sorry you were received so "coldly" in here. I'm somewhat of a newcomer myself.

Preciate that, I figure that just rebuilding it will be a vast improvement but I figure while it is open I might as well tweak er a bit.

Not necessarily... I use it sometimes when I'm not at one of my home machines... That's like saying that anyone who constantly top-posts is an idiot... There are exceptions... Right, Bill?

Psstt... Hey kid! Yea you!

I want more friggin horsepower too.

Hopefully, one of these days they will find a way to make it happen for the

3.7 V6 that came in this little KJ.

You'll have to keep us posted on your progress. I'd like to see the transition.

Perhaps, perhaps not... At some places, it would require loading additional company-specific software on my notebook to allow it to be on their network... At others,. you're not even allowed to bring a non-company PC into their network... Sometimes when I'm eating lunch at my desk, I'll check Google Groups...

Well as of right now the engine is out, apart, and at the machine shop. It is being bored .030 over and the heads are getting resurfaced etc... so that should increase compression. It is getting ported as well and since we are replacing crankshafts camshafts and pistons I am going with the 4.2l budget stroker which should yeild about 260 HP

Cool, it should rock.

I have a 4.0 with 310K km on it in our Cherokee and a spare 4.2L sitting in my garage.... The stroker idea is enticing.

Hi Scooter, Welcome to RAMJW. Not that these discussions can't happen here, but you really should go check out the yahoo Strokers group, as that is where most of the technical discussions on these build-ups occurs. There is even one member is CNC machining silvolite pistons to reduce the CR of the stroker to a reasonable level. Are you going to deck the block? It is recommended to restore some level of quench compliance, although the benefit of this is still being debated. 4.21 sounds odd? are you going the stroker route, or simply an overbore?
