Musta been a typo I am using 4.2L parts. Thanks to Bill Hughes and this helpful link

I amgoing the stroker route laid out under 4.5L Low-buck simple strokerwhich readfs as follows:

4.5L Low-buck simple stroker

Jeep 4.2L 3.895" stroke crank Jeep 4.2L 5.875" rods Jeep 4.0L 3.875" standard bore pistons

9.7:1 CR CompCams #68-231-4 206/214 degree camshaft Ported HO 1.91"/1.50" cylinder head Stock 0.051" head gasket 0.081" quench height Ford 24lb/hr injectors with adjustable FPR or MAP adjuster for '87-'95 engines, Ford 24lb/hr injectors with stock 49psi FPR for '96 and later engines 266hp @ 4950rpm, 322lbft @ 3500rpm

Does it need to get up to 3500 rpm to top the torque or does it pick up early with a flat top to the curve? I was under the impression the stroker has a low rpm pull like the 4.2L has. They de-stroked the engine when they made the 4.0.

That is Dino's site. He is the guru on the yahoo list. BTW, the CNC dished Silvolites will get your CR down to low 9s so you can run pump regular without ping. Otherwise plan on premium.

You go first Bill.... You go out and buy a new KJ and hook it up, invest the $30k and then put your money where your mouth is. If YOURS can take it, then I'll do it.

If you check out the link to that site there is a graph that shows the TQ curve as the 4.6L stroker (the one I will actually end up with in as they are boring it :) reaches 2000 rpm it is over 300 lbft of TQ and at 2500 there is about 320 and only bumps a bit higher to like 330 at

3500-4500 then drops to 260 at about 5100 and then EXPLODES LOL :)

From what I've seen (insane inline JP magazine, they dyno a Golan stroker in an XJ) the torque curve is more of a "line" damn near dead flat all the way to valve float RPM's

It's got something like 100lb ft more at 1800.

I'm convinced the 4.0 explodes at anything above 3500 :-)
