This is but a very small fraction of the spammer domains out there and none of the nasty ones either as I have seen anyway.

It has something to do with what group I just finished reading. The post is automated and should only go to news.admin.net-abuse.email but for some reason it follows the newsreader.

That post is a daily sweep of new sites.
I have gotten a few Hotmail and Yahoo! mail accounts cancelled, based on reporting spammers and Nigerian inheritance peddlers. It isn't much, but it's something. Even though I do use the paid version, Hotmail is spammer's paradise. If you could get people to filter Hotmail and all the yahoo.* mailers, it would go a long way towards cleaning up the Internet.

However, many people use the yahoo mail groups. barring all of the yahoo domain will just ruin one service in exchange for nothing. the loss would be the low cost free mail groups.
Back in the day a e-mail list would cost a person 25-30 bucks to run or (run in the background of his shell account if the admin didn't care some did and some didn't)
it isn't the low cost/free accounts that are the problem it is the ISPs and the Lusers.
I have in the last 20 years killed a multitude of accounts for abuse and worked an abuse desk at an ISP. It is a waste of time killing accounts.
