Spark Plug Removal

I am having trouble changing the spark plugs in the CJ. The previous owner inserted plugs that appear to be too large.. and by large I mean I cannot get the regular 13/16 socket to fit over the plug. Does anyone have any ideas? I have no idea how the guy got them in there.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There are two spark plug sizes that I know of. You probably need to get the other size. Any auto parts store should have them i would think.

Cannon (O|||||||O) did pass the time by typing:

I assume you mean they are 13/16 sized but your socket won't go on because of the engine casting being in the way. In that case you need a thinwall socket or maby a deepwell.

Some plug sockets have a rubber insert that can be a bugger to get on the plug. You have to line them up just right and push hard and they will pop on.

Maybe?

Maybe your socket is too thick and you need a spark plug socket, they are thin wall.
