stalling on deceleration

Mike Romain has a fix for the idle tube problem he promotes, it was actually a fix that Jeep used for a while that involves drilling out the tubes because they are too small from the factory. After the 'fix' all you will need in the way of maintenance is a carb rebuild every few years to replace the rubber parts and reset the float. If I remember correctly you can perform this fix while leaving the bulk of the carb installed.

Do a search on this newsgroup for "mike romain bbd fix" and I'm sure you will find the procedure.

Thanks Billy. I definitely was planning to address the idle tube issue, but wasn't sure that that would fix the quirky stalling problem I also have (decel/downhill stall, uphill revving).

Any other thoughts?

Mike is the expert on the BBD here, unfortunately he is away wheeling this weekend.

The 'fix' is designed to prevent it from happening again I believe but regular applications of GumOut JetSpray may keep the tubes clean and clear.
