What is the difference between an ABS axle and one without? Would an ABS version work on a non-ABS Jeep? (refereeing to a complete axle)

JimG did pass the time by typing:

Presence of "tone rings", and yes from what I've read.

Axleshafts from either are interchangeable with either.

The entire axle, or just the shafts?

The ABS version gets a part called a tone ring. The tone ring is not recognized if there is no Speed Sensor. If you had no ABS before, you will still have no ABS. If you formerly had ABS, it will be lost.

I was speaking of the entire axle.

And, yes I understand that an ABS axle in a non ABS Jeep would not instantly give you ABS function.... got to have computer, pickups, other axle....

Then the whole thing should fit fine. It will have capability - ABS - that you can not tap into, but it will physically fit.
