Shows what I know.

You can trip the lock pin with a screwdriver?

When you pull the cylinder out, there is a rectangle tab on the end. This tab just turns to do everything so a screwdriver just takes it's place.

Fixing is both easier and cheaper.

I bought a lockset for something like $25. The installation was easy, even with eyes as bad as mine are.

Thanks. Guess I'll have to start taking off the wheel.

I don't want to take the column apart again this soon.

Once was enough.

off the top of my head, I'd say that it's probably considerably cheaper to buy all the tools I need and fix it, as opposed to replace the column, unless that column is under $100 and installs itself.

Just a guess.
