90 canvas roof

I'm just putting a canavas roof on my 90. It came with three spring loaded catch type things. Where do these fit? Has anyone got a scan of the relevant page from the parts catalogue they can email me please? Thanks Richard

On top of the windscreen there should be a clamp bar that you tuck the beaded front lip of the hood under. The catches are offset cams that fit through the clamp bar with the handles poking out underneath the windscreen top lip. You push the handles 90 degrees in one direction to clamp the bar down, and back to pointing straight down to allow the clamp bar to move up so you can pull the beaded front lip of the hood back out again.

Don't make the bolts on the catches too tight otherwise you have to strain quite hard to push the catches into the clamp position, not only is this a PITA but it also means the clamps can fail because the handles are only held onto the bolts by a small rollpin which breaks under too much pressure. Spares are cheap though.

Moving downwards, the order of the parts when assembled should be;

nylock nut clamp bar across top of windscreen spring windscreen surround top edge bolt with plastic catch pushed up through holes, fixed with nyloc nut

That should do you, I don't have a scan or a working scanner.

Richard What Ian is refering to there are 4 of and his very good explanation should suffice without a diagram, sounds like you have one missing.

Or are you refering to the rubber straps with D loops, 3 on each side? The rubber hooks pass through slots in the over door channels and hook onto nylon hooks on the inside of the channel thus holding the canvas against the frame over the door. These nylon hooks are guite often broken off but are easily replaced.

No problem, it is has a canvas and you have pm

There should indeed be four, but I've only got three fitted and have never had any problems. Replacements are very cheap from dealers so it's easy to get a new one.
