A very capable Discovery

Having owned a Yr2000 Discovery, my first Land Rover, for only 6 months, Iwas quite keen to find out just how good it was going to perform in 4WDconditions. This is also my first 4WD so I was totally inexperienced. Threeof us left Adelaide, South Australia for the mid-Flinders Ranges into someof the best unsealed roads and tracks in the country. Although normallysemi-arid to desert country, it had recently had some heavy rains. Plenty ofreally steep washed out muddy tracks into the mountains, lots of creeks tocross, washed out roads exposing deep crevices and rocks, truely a 4WDparadise. Although very hesitant at first, it did not take long to findconfidance in the car, I soon learnt to have a lot faith in it. It outperformed many other Japanese & Asian vehicles in similar conditions andtook my perception of the Discovery as a cross between an off-roader and asoft-roader to being a very capable 4WD. I had second thoughts after buyingit, being that Land Cruisers seem to dominate the skyline in this countrybut I now know it was the best decision I made. And the Flinders Ranges -Spectacular - Awe inspiring.Steve W

I dare say your EDC can be "chipped", or it may be possible to adjust it. i don't however, know how. The EDC uses a modified form of the bosch injection pump with electronic controls, dunno how much of it is done by electronics and how much by the pump.
