AFL Away Day ..

I'm off for a laning trip to North Wales, around Snowdonia, from the

30th of Jan and coming home on the 1st of Feb, I'm not sure on whether there's any places available, a friend of mine is planning the lanes with the help of some locals, but in theory numbers are unlimited as long as people can split into groups of four or so with one member leading with a laptop equipped with memory map and a supplied overlay. The only costs involved are accomodation, we're booking a mountaineering lodge but if that's full then people could make their own arrangements in the local area. If anyone's interested then let me know and I'll see if we can get any more in. Anyone with memory map would be particularly welcome in case the other trip leaders can't make it this time.

If anyone is interested, note that a shiny truck on road tyres probably isn't going to be a good idea, on my last Wales trip of this type most of the lanes were wonderfully scenic with a few rock climbs, water crossings and very little mud, but some lanes were very scratchy with some boggy bits, and one lane was a bit of a wrecker, even managed to damage the pinz on that one. Most of the lanes are ones we've not driven before so we just take them as they come. CB would also be very worthwhile.
